participating in BENSALEM PRIDE DAY
On October 20, 2001, Bensalem Township and Bensalem Twp School District sponsored it's annual Pride Day. This year the event was held at the township municipal complex on Byberry Road. The scouts were given an area near the playground. Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops from Bensalem were invited to set up tables and other displays to promote scouting.

Troop 130 set up a small campsite with a couple tents and one of the patrol kitchens. They also set up the monkey bridge which is always a popular event. Children of all ages (and one twonship Councilman) answered the challenge of crossing the bridge made of ropes. The line of participants was steady from the moment the bridge was erected to the very end of the day. We had to place a parent in line to mark the last participant.

Troop 130 members were among the first to arrive at the township grounds that morning, starting thir set-up in the dark. after all was said and done, they were among the last to break-down their display, leaving in the dark as well.
